A 30-Year Transmission Shop, Rebuilt Around What People Actually Search

A family transmission shop on State Road 7 was running an 11-page Squarespace site built around stock photos of a gearbox. We rebuilt it on their own domain as a 75-page site with a symptom checker, an online parts store and financing, and kept every address that was already ranking.

The Challenge

Downtown Transmissions has fixed transmissions in Plantation for over 30 years and has 67 five-star Google reviews to show for it. None of that reached the web. Their site was 11 pages on a Squarespace template: a dark hero photo of somebody else's gearbox, five links in the menu, no way to ask a question, no prices, no parts, and nothing a search engine could read about the business. A customer whose car shudders at 40 mph had no reason to pick them over the chain down the road.

Our Approach

  • Rebuilt the site on their own domain rather than a agency subdomain, so the address customers already know keeps working.
  • Mapped every URL from the old site first. Eight kept their exact addresses and three now redirect, so nothing that was ranking got thrown away.
  • Wrote a page for each service and each city they serve, in the words customers use ("shudders at 40 mph", "slipping between gears") instead of industry terms.
  • Added a symptom checker, an online parts store with quote-only pricing and VIN capture, and a financing page.
  • Shot the site around 15 real photos of the shop, the crew and the blue sign on State Road 7, so it looks like the place customers drive to.
  • Built a new PRND logo from the gear selector, and put the storefront sign colour through the whole design.

The Outcome

The new site went live on downtowntrans.com in September 2026: 75 pages against the old 11, every legacy URL still resolving, a homepage that ships 34% less code, and local business markup that the old site never had. Quote requests and bookings now reach the shop by email the moment they are submitted.
