Built a full-stack AI shop management platform from scratch, replacing Tekmetric, PartsTech, ALLDATA, and three other paid tools for a two-location Miami repair operation. VIN scan, voice-to-RO, live customer tracking, OBD integration, and AI parts sourcing all in one Flutter app.
The Challenge
Independent auto repair shops pay $10K-$20K/yr per location for fragmented software: one tool for estimates, another for parts, another for labor times, another for customer comms. None of them talk to each other. Techs hate every single one.
Our Approach
- Built Flutter iOS + Android app with VIN scan, voice-to-RO dictation, digital vehicle inspections, signature capture, and real-time customer tracking.
- Integrated MOTOR DaaS API directly, pulling verified labor times at a fraction of the cost of competitor subscriptions.
- Built unified parts dashboard pulling live pricing from Worldpac, Turn 14, WHI/Nexpart, and RepairLink, replacing a $10K/yr PartsTech subscription.
- Wired Stripe for payment collection, Firebase for real-time sync across both locations, and push notifications for customer status updates.
The Outcome
PISTA is live in TestFlight at build 94 and operating in two Miami locations. The platform has replaced five paid SaaS subscriptions and handles the full repair order lifecycle from check-in to payment.
